DIY press brake kits & accessories
We support the DIYers. If you are building your own press brake or shearer, we can supply all the accessories — control, backgauge, tooling, hydraulics and motor — so the machine you weld together runs like a factory one.

What we supply
You weld the frame. We supply the parts that make it a machine. Everything below is the same hardware we fit to our own production press brakes and shearing machines — same suppliers, same assembly, same bench test before it ships.
Servo control system — panel and cabinet with all electrics
The complete control package: servo drive, CNC control (Delem DA-53T, DA-66T or E21S/TP10S class depending on your budget), the operator panel, and the electrical cabinet wired with every contactor, breaker, transformer and terminal in place. It arrives as a unit you mount and connect — no hunting for compatible components, no re-engineering the wiring diagram.
Backgauge system — fingers with servo motors and guides
The backgauge assembly with servo motors, ball screws, linear guides and the fingers themselves. This is the single biggest upgrade over a homemade manual stop: position repeatability in hundredths of a millimetre instead of eyeball-and-chalk. We supply the rails long enough for your bed, with the mounting brackets to match.
Tooling — clamps, punches and dies
Punches, V-dies, gooseneck tooling and the clamping system to hold them. Hardened steel, ground to the standard tooling geometry, in the V-openings your material thicknesses need. Tell us your thickest material and we match the die openings — or send us the tooling you already have and we will tell you what to add.
Hydraulic system
The complete hydraulic unit: pump, valves, cylinder(s), hoses, fittings and reservoir, sized to your tonnage and assembled and pressure-tested. For two-cylinder frames we supply the synchronisation circuit with the cylinders, so the ram stays square through the stroke.
Motor
The drive motor matched to the pump and your power supply — single phase or three phase, at your local voltage. Specify your supply and we size it; if you are limited to 220V single phase, say so and we will build the package around that constraint rather than discovering it on install day.
Already own a shop press? Start with an attachment
The cheapest way into controlled bending is a finger brake attachment on a hydraulic shop press you already have. It bolts to the standard 12–20 ton press boss and turns the press into a bender for boxes, pans, flanges and multi-angle work — no frame to build at all.

Attachment specifications
| Parameter | Specification |
|---|---|
| Fits shop press | 12–20 ton hydraulic presses (standard ram boss) |
| Mounting boss | Φ2 in / 50 mm outside, Φ1.5 in / 40 mm bore |
| Overall size | 14.5 in / 370 mm long × 8.7 in / 220 mm high |
| Max bending length | 12 in / 305 mm |
| Max material thickness | 3/16 in / 5 mm mild steel |
| Bend angle | Up to 90° |
| Fingers | Removable segments for box, pan and partial bends |
| Spring return | Compression springs lift the bending leaf after each stroke |
What we need to quote your kit
- Tonnage and bed length of the machine you are building (or the shop press you already own).
- Thickest material and longest bend the machine has to handle — these size the hydraulics and the frame.
- Power supply — single or three phase, and the voltage at your wall.
- Control level — NC, entry CNC, or full CNC with angle correction and multi-axis backgauge.
- Frame drawing, if you have one, so we check the mounting interfaces before you cut steel.
Send those five points to roger@kecmt.com and we will come back with a parts list and a quote. If what you are planning would be better served by a factory machine, we will say so — we build those too.
Questions DIYers ask
Can I really buy just the parts, not a whole machine?
Yes. Many of our customers build their own frames and buy the running gear from us. The control system, backgauge, tooling, hydraulic unit and motor are the parts that decide whether a homemade brake holds angle and repeat — and they are exactly the parts we build for our own machines every day.
What do you need from me to quote a DIY kit?
Tell us the tonnage and bed length you are building for, the thickness and length of sheet you need to bend, your power supply (single or three phase, voltage), and whether you want NC or CNC control. If you have a drawing of your frame, send it — we will check the mounting interfaces against our standard parts.
Will your backgauge and control fit a frame I built myself?
They fit the standard mounting geometry we machine to. If your frame is still on the drawing board, send the dimensions and we will tell you what to change so the backgauge rails, fingers and cabinet bolt straight on. It is much cheaper to get the interfaces right before the steel is cut.
Do you supply tooling for shop presses as well as press brakes?
Yes. Our finger brake attachments mount on 12 to 20 ton hydraulic shop presses with a standard boss, and we supply V-dies, gooseneck punches and clamping bars to match. If you already own a shop press, this is the cheapest way into controlled bending.
Is a DIY press brake accurate enough for production work?
Accuracy comes from the control, the backgauge and the frame stiffness — not from who welded the frame. Build the frame heavy and straight, fit our servo backgauge and CNC control, and the machine will hold the tolerances the parts demand. We will tell you honestly when a factory machine is the better buy.
